pc building advice needed
« on: June 10, 2003 01:31 pm CDT »
:?  k im going to build a new pc and im haven some thoughts of the compatability issues with the case motherboard and cpu. Does the case matter to which mb u can get like will a certain mb only fit in certain case and u got the cpu only working or fitting in a certain mb so this is really anoying and does the mb have a graphics chip normally i was looking at the products from http://www.micropro.com and found
 some alright deals.
im going with a amd athlon 1.33ghz 266 mhz fsb that costs $54

Well..

AMD is better for overclocking, tends to overclock itself when it is nice and cool, and is much cheaper.

Intel has faster processor speeds, but they don't overclock too well.. And unlike AMD overclocking itself, they would never do that.

Rumors say Intell has a longer life, but I seriously doubt it..

I have allways used AMD, and never had a cpu die on me.

How much are you willing to spend? I could probably get you a lot better than what you have there.

Yeah, don't skimp out and go for the cheapest processor. Middle level processors really aren't that expensive from AMD.

If it is just a motherboard and CPU, you hook it up to your case in place of the other one.
