WinRAR Computer Question
« on: August 12, 2003 07:44 am CDT »
So I get a perfectly legal compressed program in a .rar file. I extract it to a file all on its own, and I get a file called cd1, a file called cd2, and an MSInfo file. The MSInfo thing just pops up my system specs, and in cd1 and cd2 there are a bunch more winrar archives as well as one .SFV file that I dont know what to do with. Summed up I extracted one archive and it made a bunch of babies. What do I do?

Well, your perfectly legal *cough* software contains the following:

The .nfo needs to be opened with notepad, where you can obtain your perfectly legal serial number.

The .sfv is a verification (like CRC) that you can use WinSFV or Quick SFV to verify the download was good and there are no errors.

Enjoy your legal software!

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
