Following the rules...
« on: September 25, 2003 11:03 pm CDT »
What is it with most of the daytime players?? I have noticed a disturbing trend. It goes something like this:

 1. Player logs onto server and starts PKing newbies/non-house players for no reason.

 2. Players who CAN stop these PK's from happening, do nothing.

 3. When asked, these players either respond with a "f*** off" or "Me and so-and-so have an understanding".

Does nobody else see a problem with this? If you have the ability to stop a PKer who you KNOW is hunting noobs or hunting out of his level using mimic, then dammit, why don't you DO SOMETHING about it.

Where the hell is the compassion? The sense of community? The sense of LOYALTY to your fellow players. You can try to live a double life, but in the end, either you stand up and fight against rulebreakers, or you stand up and support them.

 A man once said...

"Motive is the difference. Hero's break into houses to save the public, villians break into houses to terrorize them."

It's not the action, it's the motive behind it. See the rest of you in server. Swords High.

There isn't a rule that says they have to save your ass. If I were playing for real in this situation, I wouldn't help anyone unless they were a friend. Lets face it.. If you stick your nose in someone elses business, you are going to get screwed in the long run.

Thats nice.. But I would rather mind my own business instead of risking other people not thinking the same way.

but if others pk and you want some one to help pk them well your making 2ppls be againts the pker making more problems on the server!
then the pker just kills him then a friend of a friend pk's him
it goes on and on! lol but most of the high lvl's are friends of the pker's but do nothing becuase eather they know that they will lose or.. they simple dont want to get in a fight!..or they dont give a malarkey!

I agree with undergod on this one. Explorerman had no right asking me to put my butt on the line to save newbies when they get pked. It's none of my business. Im not a peace keeper or a admin.  If i was it would be differant. Until me or someone else is given that authority the trouble makers will run wild. Xanth is a good peace keeper but he only plays a few hours in the mornings. Daywalker is never on anymore. And the admins arent hardly ever on either. Wise_one and I play 16 hours almost every day and we see the crap that others do, but their isn't anything we can do about it. Its sad when a few bad apples can spoil the fun of others and nothing can be done.  Thanks for the opportunity to express my views.

yes me and wise and Jake have been on several hr togeather and we see everything that is happening on the server! every single day we see somthing happening bad on the server! i swear there are what like near 20ppls+ that get pked every day lol! but yes we can not do anything becuase we are not authorized to do so! if given the chance to have PK or Admin then we could enforce this! but particle's see's it a diffrent way! *im not saying your wrong in what you say*
imjust saying if your going to hire some one to be admin or PK they should be on most of the day not like
2hr a day for a admin or no hr a day!
but any hoot Thanks for letting me express my self!

Jake, he had every right to ask you.  You just don't have to listen.  I know it sounds funny, but it is 100% true.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Hi Particle. I would like to submit this post to clear things up and take some of the heat off of Eplorerman. It was me that had asked Jake to help out with the situation, not Explorer. I was being PK'd by lightning. Just a little history: I did join a house when I first started playing this server. That was my mistake and no one elses. I didn't take the time to find out what joining a house did and what the consequences were. Totally my fault. I did find out very soon what those consequences were too. After getting myself out of the house i was still a target of WH-Lightning's attacks as well as many of the new players in the server. If he cant target you he will mimic and then kill u. that is when I had asked for a little help. I never intended this to become a large drawn out problem. Since there is rarely an Admin on nor a PK i felt compelled to ask someone that could do something. All I want to do is play! Thanks for your time Part.

Be it a community or not it is not the peoples job to protect the people. If i were to stick my nose in it then i would become drawn into the plot. So tha when i was lvl 1 i would become the target. so then i would ask for help. do you see now? the endless cycle of hate. If you really want something done then stop relying on others. If you really really really want something done. Then just make a militia of high level and high rl to stop the pk whores. when admins arnt on. thus the circle does not continue.

"Bring fire and bring shell and heap all upon the pyre. With flame and gun we shall make an end to the withered husk that is human life. And in the blazing furnace of battle we shall forge anew the iron will of yet another stronger race."
