First, really, if this was a "test" as you say (not that I believe it was) I wouldn't recommend it again, look what it started.
And second, it would be almost impossible for anyone forget something like this just becuase you asked them to. You could work to become more respected, but asking people to ignore it is a little too hopeful. Good-luck on which ever ...
