Halo PC
« on: October 8, 2003 06:30 pm CDT »
I just bought it and stuff.  Its cool and all (the pistol is extremely fun to use), but be warned.  The game really chugs on my system, even with the specular effects removed (bumpmapping).  Right now im on my FX5200 pro, im gonna test it on my geforce3, see if there is any difference.

I've got an overclocked 9500, so I should be alright.  I was looking forward to playing it on my PC.  I didn't know it was out already.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Yeah its out.

Heh, I just popped my geforce3 back in.  I realize it was a big mistake to let a hardware nub sell me a geforce FX telling me ill get better fps than with geforce3.  Much better now...

I don't recognize those weapons in the last two screenshots; they weren't in Halo for the Xbox.

One of those screens looks like the one from RvB, now that you mention it.

RvB is set in the most popular multiplayer map in Halo, the "box canyon". Is that what you guys mean?

What I think UG is talking about that it was probably done on a PC.

RvB came out quite a bit before Halo PC came out (hell, it was out before last year's E3).

All those shots are mine.

*edit*
Those are the two new weapons:  The fuel rod gun and the flamethrower.

Believe it or not, there is a flamethrower on the xbox version, you just have to have a mod chip to get it.  They didnt finish the coding for it and stuff, so it looks kinda stupid.

The flamethrower was already a bad idea for halo pc, though.

Look's pretty damn tight. Nice screenshots, I should think about buying the game, alot of my friends play it. I've never tried it except once at friend's house when we were playing 4 player on X-box.
