It is kind of funny you mention that LW.
It does seem today that the more people there are, the more difficult it is to maintain peace and some sense of clanhood (if you will) as there was long a go.
They always compare us to our ancestors and refer to our ancestors as barbarric, but I see many more barbarric things we do every day. Taking so much as granted things these days, no longer taking care of our tools, our old people, or our homes.
I wrote some paper in 8th grade about wanting to live at least 150 years earlier, just so that I would have a better sense of family, frineds and workmanship. People hardly take pride in their workmanship any more and I feel undereducated because of that aspect, as they no longer take the time to truly show me the ways of their working. When I tell people I would have liked to live longer a go they point to disease, famine, and not having electronics as a major dusadvantage to life. I point to the un-needed things, the cramed spaces we try to live in, and the places we can't go with out permits any more because of people fearing one an other more than asking them questions and accomidating them as visitors. Disease and famine are natural parts of life. If I could have lived in a time where I could take pride in my work, be in a better shape than I am, and have a closer community I would much rather spring for that with some disease and famine rather than this crazy place we are in now.
People say I should move back to the old world. I don't know... I am not especially good with foreign languages and I don't know if they would accept a lonely looking US resident. ;-)
But enough of my musing... on with the show!
