I am thinking of a song by ... Pink Floyd?
« on: October 16, 2003 07:06 am CDT »
I think it's by Pink Floyd. I just need to know the damn name.

A large part of it is a long and drawn out piece using an electric organ + guitar. It was really calming music...

The organ just alternates between the two same notes every few seconds; the guitar just does its own thing. The song has a great ambient feel to it. I wouldn't mind it going on forever (it feels that way too).

I was listening to another Pink Floyd song on the radio('Time', Dark Side of the Moon) while riding home from my unix course and it reminded me of the song I'm trying to recall.

Damn, where has all the good music gone  . Then maybe we'd get some good music.

Speaking of which, what music do you play while playing TRPG?

I listen to:
Final Fantasy IV: Celtic Moon (a great orchestrated album)
    Final Fantasy IX
George Winston (IMHO, the greatest piano soloist)
    Various video game music
    [/list]

The All-American Rejects make brilliant use of organs and guitars. Maybe you were thinking of them?

Go and buy some Pink Floyd albums if you would really like to know.  There's a strong possibility that it's from "Dark side of the moon" or "the wall" as those two albums get the most air time on the radio... occasionally they'll play something from "wish you were here" but their other albums are becomming a rarity on the radio.

    Peace.

Here is what I normally listened to while playing TRPG:

    NIN
Tool (mainly, i listened to lots and lots of Tool)
    Rolling Stones
    Pink Floyd
    Tom Petty
    Smashing Pumpkins
    Simon and Garfunkel
    Staind
    Cake
HIM (around the end of trpg for me)
    REM

I shortcutted all those songs to a special trpg.mp3 folder, so that I wouldnt have to flip through them on winamp when I came across a song I'd rather not listen to.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).
