The 311 concert at clemson...
« on: November 5, 2003 07:33 am CST »
TOTALLY KICKED MY ASS! That was the BEST concert I have EVER BEEN TO! Despite the fact that I have a very noticable ring in my ears, and the fact that I can hardly even hear out of my right ear, there are absolutely no regrets! They played 5 songs from each of their albums, and they picked the best ones ever!

Also, I met up with "otherworld" that plays on particle's, we chilled together the whole time--both stayed up in our drunkeness through the long hours of the night!  He's a diehard 311 fan..  very cool guy!  (and so damn fine!)

If you like 311 in the least bit, you will absolutely love them live.. they know how to put on a show! I was right on the floor, on the front row (I had to give those bastard security people the sad puppy face to let me on since I didn't have floor tickets, but since it wasn't filled up they let me on).. Nick Hexum is soooo hot! Anyways, on to another subject..

I have a new respect for Alien Ant Farm! I wasn't ecstatic about them opening, because I didn't really like the 1 or 2 songs Iv'e heard from them, and I thought 311 would be 50x better--I was wrong! Alien Ant Farm had some EXCELLENT songs, and are a seriously talented band--they have the coolest style ever, they mixed it up nicely, and the crowd was jumping after the first song!

Met some really cool people (311 fans, naturally), and found a place to hang out at clemson before and after the concert.

And to leave you with the best words I can think of..

311 FOREVER!

No offence, but 311 and AAF are regarded as bands for 12-13 year olds here...

I did like them when I was younger....

I'm going to A Perfect Circle on the 14th.  So stoked.

Damn ticketmaster though, damn them all to hell.  Expensive tickets.

Excuse me?  I don't know when you became the spokesperson for the general populus of this board, so who is to say everyone else thinks such a stupid thing?..  and to let you know, there were no "12-13 year olds" at the concert.  You don't have to like my music, but how about keeping your slandering thoughts to yourself?

311 has some of the most dedicated fans you'll ever see, so you can go on thinking that they are for 12 and 13 year olds.  I doubt you have even heard more than 5 of their songs.

Like them when you were younger?  I didn't realize your head blew up and you became more mature and older than all of us here.  What are you.. 16? 17?  Your the one who needs to grow up..  Seriously, you just made yourself look like an idiot--Try listening to the lyrics of some of 311's songs and then come back and tell me it's for 12-13 year olds.

Just to add a few facts about Darwin, and his mature grown-up-ness:

Obviously he is mature, since he posts on such relevant matters such as 'packing fudge' and the like.  Well, what do we have here--another little tid-bit about Darwin.

According to this, Darwin makes up a wopping 13 percent of all posts on this forum.  A record breaking 15 posts a day.  How is he able to live on the forum, yet he is still so "mature"?  Obviously for him to be mature, he would have to at least have a life?  I guess he isn't mature enough to realize that MUSIC IS MUSIC, which is expression of self.  Maybe he also didn't "mature" enough to respect others opinions, and not jump to conclusions such as speaking for every single person on the forum without even knowing what they thought.

*shrug*  I had the 311 album (the self titled one).  I did like them. Heh, I also used to like limp bizkit.

I've heard 311 is excellent in concert.  The woman that married my cousin told me that she had lots of fun at a 311 concert, but she said that all the people there were either 13 or had their parents with them.

*edit*

And you didnt have to go out of your way to show how short and immature my posts have been lately.  This forum has been dragging for the past...  few months...

Sorry, but you found my spontaneous enraged-anger button.  Don't go by what you "heard" from your friends =/  Music is my life, therefore if you insult my music, you directly insult me.  Guess I shouldn't have gone so far, but that really made me angry!

How could you say such a thing about 311, I love their music.. and so do my friends.

One of my friend once said that the best band to listen to while high is 311.

Their music is just so.. entrancing.
