Kazaa & Joke
« on: November 7, 2003 10:59 pm CST »
Yea, I didn't feel like making 2 new topics. So I stuck to unrelated things together.

1.) I haven't been keeping up with the news lately, but has there been any recent action with Kazaa on downloading music, lately, the number of songs have seemed to dramatically decline. Is it just me, timing, or did they do something?

2.) Funny joke. :D

The Call Home
(((ring )))
(((((((((ring-g-g-g-g)))))))))))

"Hello?"
"Hi, honey, this is Daddy. Is your Mommy near the phone?"
"No, Daddy. She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Frank."
After a brief pause, Daddy says, "But you haven't got an Uncle Frank,
honey!"
"Oh Yes, I do, and he's upstairs in the bedroom with Mommy, right now!"
"Uh, Okay, then......here's what I want you do.  Put down the phone,
run
upstairs and knock on the bedroom door and shout to Mommy and Uncle
Frank that Daddy's car just pulled up outside the house."
"Okay, Daddy!"
A few minutes later, the little girl comes back to the phone. "Well, I
did what you said, Daddy."
"And what happened?" he asks.
"Well, Mommy got all scared, jumped out of bed with no clothes on and
ran around screaming, then she tripped over the rug and went flying out
the front window and now she's dead."
"Oh my God!!!!! And what about your Uncle Frank?"
"He jumped out of bed with no clothes on, too and he was all scared and
he jumped out the back window into the swimming pool.....but he must
have forgot that last week you took out all the water to clean it, so
he
hit the bottom of the swimming pool and now he's all real dead, too."
***long pause***
Then Daddy says, "Swimming pool? ......Is this 555-7039?"

I kissed a drunk girl on the lips.
This post, by its very length, defends itself against the risk of being read.

Not unless you use the good stuff:

*gotta use the IP blocker updater to keep the bad IP's (RIAA) from seeing you.  It also doesnt allow the bad guys to see all the files that you got (which makes it very difficult for RIAA to get much on you)*

Hmm.. cool... ;-)

Too bad they still tried to sue that old man, and they searched his house to find he didn't even own a computer, much less anything that would play an MP3 or a CD. :-p hehehe.  Let's just hope they don't do BS like that and catch ya! ;-)

All eight of them, in my case.

Anyhow, there's like 680 million files still being shared.  Switch nodes, the one you're on may suck

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

has anyone downloaded the new kazaa? it disabled that function where it refreshes all downloads every _ seconds. The new one just goes one by one and it is SO SLOW. does anyone know how to revive that old function? thanks

Well they use several different methods of blocking them, such as blocking the IPs, disabling others from being able to look at your files, and disabling known ports for scanning--those methods coupled with the 0.1% chance that the RIAA would search YOU out of the millions of people who use kazaa give you a very very small chance of being caught.

More than that, it can help you get non-RIAA screwed up songs.  The purposely screwed MP3s are spreading like AIDS

Thanks Darwin, that helped. =X
I have KazaaLite, but I've never even looked at the options. Funny how it says Corrupt File sometimes and still works...
