A DX9 card is important with all these new DX9 titles coming up.  I would say that 128MB is fine for now though.  I think HL2 is supposed to do a little better with 256MB, but for now that extra 128MB is excess.  It really depends on how long you plan on keeping the card and what you're going to use it for.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Ti4200 overall is better than any card up to the FX5900 and the 9600 Pro

Not to mention it is a good buy for the money. Granted this is only true with a nice amound of pc3500 and at least a XP 2500. But still

Ozzy, you were telling me you had FPS problems with your ti4200 when my Geforce3 runs it very well at full detail and high-res.

my 5600 256mb card had some dx9 problems on halo. Like, on my gf3 it was playable but ran like ass, but it ran like ass for most people. got my 5600 and it was almost unplayable, yet ran everything else better than my gf3. But with the new drivers halo seems to run just fine now, but the reflections seem to drag my system down still. If i could have gotten a 9600 i would have, but the extended warentee limited my options to nvidia only  :?

I ended up getting a 9800XT 256..  didn't expect to get radeon's best card but my dad said he wanted to get me the best.  He's got a complex I think..  always has to get the best even when he doesn't know what it is o_o
