The max I've gotten my 2500+ to do is 9020 MIPS at 2.42GHz (1.8GHz CPU)

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

You are jumping 18* C when you are under stress.. That isn't healthy at all. The max you should ever jump is 8-10* Especially considering it is an Intell chip.. They are not made to run at those temps.

The arctic silver has cured a little bit, and the max it reaches now is 36*C.

And how can you say intel chips are not made to run at that temp?  With stock cooling (with original compound) you pretty much get the same results when running at stock speeds.

I'm talking about the jump in temperature..

What happens to matter when it heat up really quickly?

The atoms change "shape".

Yes it was considering there were quotes on the word "shape". I thought at least you would understand that.

Well what happens is...The Pins on the CPU "desolder" themselves, Iv seen it happen with about 3 CPU's now, one of them was my own p3 933.

The only problem with intel chips is that the pins are a little too brittle, other than that, they are great.

Doesnt it require about 240-270*F to melt solder?

*edit*
Sometimes more on different peices of solder.
