A little server assistance.
« on: May 20, 2004 02:58 pm CDT »
Just a simple question.

To run a server, does Tribes have to be in the C:\ Drive?

Here's my mistake. When my computer broke down (my absence) I lost all my crap. Then when I reformatted and got Tribes back, I wanted to reopen my server. Then I realized I mixed up my new main drive with G:\ . So my main drive is G:\ .  Therefore, I set up my Tribes in the G:\ Drive.

Now, my server doesn't work, even with firewall off, as it is supposed to be. Now my question is if I need to have Tribes in the C:\ Drive?

Thanks for all help given.

i think you have to change the Dir in the server console, but i sugest you just go and put your primary harddrive back to C: even if you have to format, because your going to come into troubles in the future.

I've done the Directory change. Instead of C:\Dynamix\TRIBES it should be G:\. I did that. Right?

Is there anything else I can do?

I guess so, Then you got to do it all to your scripts that use the C: as your primary hard drive.

If windows is installed on that hard drive, then you shouldn't have any problms. If it isn't then you aren't going to be able to run the server unless you modified the registry for directories.
