This Post is for Corona/Taurik.  Can you write a script that will basically copy everything that the chat hud says in game and broadcast it on a instant message type screen on the internet?

Purpose:  I cant startup Tribes from work anymore, but I would like to know what is going on sometimes in there.  I thought maybe you could figure something out.  You basically did it before (just oposite) with that Tokath function that would read web pages.

Maybe you could start a log file of the chat hud, then export that to a web page.  As far as I know, there are no limits to webpages, so the conversation could go on forever.  Maybe you could come up with some way to identify what time something was said so that it's not just a bunch of mumbo jumbo with no timecoding.

It's possible. But for TOTAL COVERAGE, you need a computer completely set aside for that task, it can't do anything else...

Let me know if you have one ready and I'll give you the scripts. I know you do... I'm hella poor, and even I had an old K6-2 lying around to log stuff. =p

Installing it is going to be extremely complicated, so I'll just guide you through it on MSN or ICQ or whatever, when it's ready.

The concept behind it is: your Tribes is set to automatically run at windows startup, and connect to PCRPG, then monitor messages... and if the server goes down or you lag out or whatever, a program kicks in and restarts the computer (at which time tribes loads again and re-connects to PCRPG)

It sounds like a stupid way to do things, but I could leave tokath running unattended for days this way, and it would always be on the server.

there's two ways you could do it

1. install a webserver on the computer itself (ie Apache, or IIS *shudder*) so that you could access the chat log directly (stable, but not very secure)

2. have a program send the messages to a website (less stable, and more work for me, but nobody will upload goat-porn to your Inetpub folder using hax)

That really hurt me...I laughed so hard and still am!

Choice 2 would be preferable.

I'll have to actually write the code now... for the message logging itself, I'll just use a modified tokath engine, should be easy... sending the messages to a website, that's hard. i'll let you know when it's done
