CS without a cd key?

Can I play Counter Strike without having a cd key?  I have a cd key somewhere but I Just can't find my case, I think i may have left it in Canada:(

If i get the steam installer will I be able to play?

You need a CD key to play. And it's pretty hard to find one off kazaa.

The single player is different from Condition-Zero. The single player is called Counter-Strike: Source which comes with CZ if you were to buy it. CZ however is just a HL mod... Steam trys to make you buy a cd key for it, but you can still use it without one.

The origional CS team doesn't work on CS anymore. They started making 1.6, and Valve basicly took it into their own hands. Because of legal issues, Valve made CZ which is their own mod. That is why all the weapon names changed.

Condition Zero is the best counterstrike mod alive. The graphics and textures kick major ass, and you can actually get the sense of rushing, because you run FAST. The bots arent just idiots that shoot, you can have a meaningful conversation with a bot and have it still kill people.
