Internet Explorer Closing
« on: July 9, 2004 02:01 am CDT »
Ok. Sometimes when using Internet Explorer 6, I will click on a link and my whole browser will just close. Can anybody tell me what is wrong or how to fix it?

It only does this on certain sites such as: http://www.griffinrun.com

It is very important that I fix it because I can't access my FTP for my CS server.

You need Java to use that site, perhaps something is wrong with your java, if you even have it. Reinstall Java and install it again, it will work then.

Not having java installed should just give you an error.  However if you have a broken install of Java or a incomplete SP (Service Pack) that involves your "Post" or "PostBack" that would issue and error.  You can configure your browswer to show you a little more errors.
Goto
Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
Make sure that
Code: [Select]
Show friendly HTTP error messages is UNCHECKED.
Make sure that
Code: [Select]
JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart) is CHECKED.

Hope that helps.
