Enter poetry contests. I've won over 6,400 dollars in 2 months.

There are 365 days in a year, if I put a dollar in a day, ill have 356 for one year, + 365 = 730. Plus a half of a year would lead me up to $912.50

Which is hardly enough for anything

$912 USD is almost exactly how much my Mom's 86 Chevrolet Spectrum cost; a reliable if underpowered car that has ran well for two years.

I think you are slightly over-estimating the funds you'll need for a first car.... unless cars are 4x more expensive in the USA... lol

BTW: Yes this is off-topic (like a lot of posts here) but I was just looking through my referer logs... and which one of you put Gnight's pic on http://www.notorhot.com ?? not that I mind, but it would have been nice to have been asked. =p

I found the PERFECT car for me. Now to make 9,900 dollars.

Perfect!

Bad idea. Your insurance premiums will be double with a sports car.. and even if you get in just the slightest accident, or get a speeding ticket your insurance will double what it already was before.

And yeah, we already discussed in another thread how Mitsubishi Eclipses tend to have problems.

PS. The person who is selling that car is 1062 miles away from your Zip code.. are you really gonna travel that far to test drive/buy it?

I love you and all Razore, but don't get a mitsubishi..  you will end up spending the amount you paid for the care just in tune-ups and repairs within the first 3 years of owning it o_O

You don't need to spend any more than $5000 on a car..  my first car was a little chevy cavalier, and it ran fine the entire time I had it (2 years).  I paid a lot less than $5000 on it, too.   When you turn 18, and you have some more income to spend, you could get something nicer (thats what I did).  It's best to get a few years driving experience before you buy a semi-new $10,000 car.

You would be better off buying an older inexpensive Honda! with the money you save you can put in paint ,stereo, and any body work you may need. You can get into an older Honda for around 2,000 to 5,000 bux! I know at your age that a "Pimp Ride" is what its all about--but if you spend your money wisely you can have one in the end. Buying a newer more expensive car is gonna rape you in the end in insurance.(Especially at your age--you really dont see any real break until you turn 25) But its your money so do as you may but try to take some of the posts to heart ----- you will be pleasantly surprised!

Dude, i've had my Chevy Impala for about 5 years now.  My stepdad bought it for me for like 600 dollars when he made me take back an "expensive" car that i could no longer afford with insurance and bills.  That car is a trooper.  I've done some engine work to it, added a 4 barrel carb and intake and exhaust.  Get a clunker tho, I've hit so many things since i got it.  In the winter we go barrel slollaming down the main street closest to my house.  And sometimes days after it rains, we visit the water runoff canals and do doughnuts and go crazy.  Never a dull moment in the old Impala.

Well if you were to get a good cheeper car then you could spend the other 9K on it to pimp it out...Or you could buy one at 1000 and save the other money for when you smash it into a tree.

EVERYONE HAS TO CRASH, it's a fact of life, I'm glad i did, lucky i wasn't an actualy CRASH it was more of a spin off a road down into a hill almost dieing, but it tought me i wasn't as good a driver as i thought i was.

(edit) although it wasn't my fault, apart from driving a company curticy car with no licence or insurence, the car had NO breaks, Handbreak didnt work for siht and the only way to slow was using gears. at 70 MPH
