Favorite Midievalish Weapon

What is your favorite  Midievalish Weapon?

What are the pros and cons about it?

Why do you pick it as your favorite?

Remember, No swords that shoot fireballs out of them or anything like that.. think real life midieval.

I would have to say the Katana.

Katana's are unique swords that are made for fast movement.

They are fairly easy to handle, and have razor sharp blades unlike other swords.

Because of their small blade, they arn't much for blocking heavy weapons. Thus, they were never used in heavy combat with Broad Swords as a Broad Sword could snap one at ease.

Whenever I Role-Play, I allways like to be the Shadow Assassin who steps in at the last second to help people out. However, I allways liked to go my own ways, and never follow anyone else.

Well, I choose the Sword. I dont know why. I just like swords. If you ever see me playing trpg, youll never see me with a club or a dagger or an axe even. I always have a sword.

That's what I hope that allow in Asheron's Call 2.  I'd like to be able to hide and spy on conversations, etc...  We need atmosphere in AC2!

As far as a weapon goes, I think I like long swords.  There's something about a long sword like how the Excalibur Sword is usually portrayed that just looks cool.

Eucons, what type of sword? There are many kinds with many different unique abilities.



Long Swords are quite an interesting weapon as they are called that hand and a half swords.

They carry the Broad Sword's Strength, but out grew it because of the way they were designed

It is faster than a broad sword, but you must use 2 hands to be able to use it with skill

Long swords, short swords, 2-handed swords, double bladed swords, rapier, katana.  

I guess my favorite is Long Sword

Sounds like a BladeMasters sword, I too enjoy the character of an Assassin, but they usually use knives and daggers, as it is quick and deadly, and you dont attract alot of attention.

I forget what the swords are called, but they are steel folded over 100 times, which makes it stronger than a Broad sword and such, but still fairly light.

id have to say that the Bastard Sword(the gothic one) is my favorite weapon..

second would be a scottish claymore, as seen here..


as for the serrated edge sword.. i think they were called flamberges.. *shrugs* could just be my imagination too.

Yes, those "wavy" swords are Flamberges.

They were popular with high officers during the 1600's

It is said that  A design like that would make a quick and easy kill.

It was also said that when it would colide with another sword it would send a vibration through the other sword distracting the guy holding it long enough to make the kill..
