My angle on this, is that a server clear would be great , but im not all for it. It sucks, but it appears its the best solution to the problem at hand.
However, what i think alot of people are missing is that this won't be a repeat of last clear -> now. I'm trying to push for a dev team, people that can code in rules into the game, so the admins don't have to enforce so many of them, for example, make it so mugging has a timed flag, much liked bashing, or spells. So you can only mug every few minutes, also it is possible, to have the server keep track of how many times you've mugged and have a timer that disables #mug or steal on a player who has outdone their allowed mug limit. Additionally people who have reached their pk limit in a time limit will find their weapons /spells doing no damage to their targets.
To not clear would be to patch up lots of problems and hope they work out. A new start would allow us to implement improvements, bit by bit, to make it so this doesnt happen again. I think if more people were providing input as to how to make gameplay better, their new char may experience a much more fun game.
Also the less adminning that needs to be done, the more time we have for quests and coding, and the more time we have for that, the more variety players will have in gameplay.
btw razore, if you feel the need for a grappling hook, {-o-} Plasmatic already coded one in his Tribes Vengeance for Tribes 1 mod. Just look for Vengeance under server types.
