Well..  as it stands, the clear looks like it's going to happen.  Iv'e talked to a lot of people on the server who said they would greatly enjoy starting over, so we were doing a bit of thinking on the over-crowding issues that would take place in the Minotaur's Lair and the Traveller's Den.

1.  Gran'Kar monsters should be strengthened to near what the traveller's are.  Nobody really uses Gran'Kar except for AFK training skills, and making it a mock-trav den would be a lot more used/prevent over-crowding in the den.

2.  Ogre Area in the Keldrin Mines should be changed to an area with monsters a bit stronger than minotaurs.  At RL 0, with a clear, the mino-lair would be entirely too crowded with people.  I think it would be a good idea to make it so the Ogre Area is blocked off, except by a teleport, and make it so you have to be level 65+ or 75+ to go there.

Any other ideas?  I think if we did those two, it would pretty much solve all over-crowding problems and making RL 0 take less than a month.  Besides, since it would be just an editing job, no new zones would have to be made.  What do you guys think?

And what's to become of the Uber-spike?
Don't block it from n00bs. If they can't take the hit's they shouldn't be there.

P.S. Elven and Crypt need to be a bit harder to spread the load on Mino more.

If we don't block it off, people will skip mino-lair all together..  it needs to be a succession of zones so there isn't an over-crowding problem.  Also..  people don't want to be in the same zone as someone much higher than them, because they will get less EXP.

once you hit rl 50, you skip zones anyways, so whats wrong with skipping zones at rl 0?

this isn't a parade around a server, its a free-for-all-rape-the-goblins journey.

Haha.. good point :P  I guess if over-crowding is a problem, people will spread themselves out.

If you make the Goblin dudes under the super-spike harder than mino and without a wall like mino has, people can't go their for a while and no one is going to go but people with 2500+ HP

Also, a good line quest of EXP only once a week should help clear some zones and set it up so people go to hight zones first.
If you see that a zone is too crowed one night, hold one of those strong-monster quests for the higher lvls so the 20-60s can get their time in on Elven-Mino.

I'm never doing a line quest again.  If we do quests, they will be level specific so everyone gets to play, and the rewards will be based on how much you participate/kill.

Also, none of the admins will have a godly amount of coins in their bank, so if another hacking spree happens, it won't do anyone any good anyways.

I would also recommend changing your password after the clear, just in case the hackers wrote them down and you didn't change them.

I think thats a great idea. There are quite a few zones that are just ignored.

I think the cave behind the left path , where you fight the rangers, shoudl have maybe 2 rangers instead of one. Also I'd like to see something done with the well. Should be some type of tough monster that drops a specific item so someone can say "if you need x, head down to the well and kill those down there".

Also i'd like to see more zones with blockers that prevent people from standing around with autoswing, and an autoheal bot.

I think the biggest problem with trpg is how easy it is, and the fact a large majority of the game is ignored.

jack up monster levels.  stick in new monster types like your fish, maybe they drop fish scales?  or maybe they just drop fish guts, hell if i know.  make monsters move more.  stick in random events.

i am getting the random events idea from runescape because i seriously think it is a very good idea.  there is a large number of what are known as random events or world events.  everything from genies that give exp to a drunken dwarf that will throw rocks at you.  if you make the world events monsters that cannot be killed and can do a malarkeyload of damage, then it would negate afks, and even godly afkers if the monsters level is based off of the target clients level.  anyways, if you just followed me through this giant paragraph of mumbo jumbo, i hope you got at least 4 words from it, genie - drunken - malarkeyload - target.  only 4 you need. ;)

yeah i agree thats a nice idea, i'd like to at least see sokmething similiar to a scheduled #setvelocity on monsters so they get bumped around sometimes and not stuck in one spot.

If you do a clear you should omit dusting and make lvling the only way to hit a remort lvl. I would be nice to lvl past 145 instead of dusting. Retool that aspect of the game and it would make money something only needed for weapons and armor.

Idea

Dont do simple pack collecting "quests" that give 24 lvls, 160 LCK 60k+ coins and over 800 SP.

Maybe then people wouldnt consider particles to be the biggest newbie trpg server in existance.

yeah and when we try to do quests that actual make you think people call us bad admins and say we never do anything for the server...
