Now why would BMW make there own Mini Cooper better than an M3?
It wouldn't beat an M3
I't couldn't even beat a lightning

200 HP with the weight of a mini-cooper makes a pretty fast car.  Why do you think motorcycles are so much faster than cars with so much less horsepower?

No, that means good acceleration. The engine can't put out the RPMs required for top end speed.
A bike can.
A bike has a lot of high end torque.

Did I say anything about top speed?  When he says beat, he is most likely either talking about quarter-mile run or a road course.

No.

And, No.

Niether would be true.
At all.
The only thing it would beat is 0-60 Acceleration and 100-0 breaking.

heh and i bet you think a plymouth cougar goes fast just since it looks like it.

However, M3's are beautiful cars, and have outperformed just about every car in its class i've seen them against on the road. I think the coopers may have a acceleration advantage, but i think the speed and handling of an m3 combined could outdo a mini, however i've never seen a mini bought for performance, only because someone saw it on the italian job.

Contrary to popular belief, they handle pretty well, despite the fact that their weight gives them a bit of a traction problem..  their souped up version of the mini could give the M3 quite a run in the quarter mile, and even on the road course, as long as there weren't a lot of long stretches where top-end speed played a factor.
