Charley, Frances, Ivan = Death to me
« on: September 9, 2004 09:55 am CDT »
If you know what I'm talking about then ok... If you don't well...

I still don't have power back from Frances yet... Ivan is going to come crashing into my back door which is the strongest of the 3. I guess you can say I am royally forked.

I think I am going to move in with Part... Then a tornado will probably come and blow me away.

Do I have a sign with natural disaster come here written on it on my back or something?

Granted, a lot of you might not really know just how powerful these things are.

Anyway... I'm done venting... For now.

Florida's going to have a LOT more hurricanes in the next few decades. It's all part of a climatic cycle in the Atlantic Ocean.

Uhh, please don't act like you're the only one getting hit by them. I live in Tampa, and Ivan is coming right threw there. Plus, if it goes right over Cuba's high mountains then it will drop to a catagory 1 2 or at the highest a 3. If it goes west of it, it will be probably a high 3 or 4. Maybe even still a 5. Then it will meet near the gulf and a outer wind band will steer it right into Tampa. Hopefully it does another right turn.

Anyways, good luck UG. I know how you feel.

Anyone on the east coast pretty much gets affected by them..  charlie was right off the coast of charleston, and frances was just a big storm by the time it got here, but Ivan could turn out to be Hugo v2.0 if the conditions are right.

I work in Tampa and live in Pinellas.  As I said.. Frances may not have been bad damage wise, but it has been 5 days since frances hit and I still have no power.

Try sleeping in a baking 90* oven and then waking up to take a cold shower in the dark.  Every try shaving with just a flashlight?

Tonados aren't fun.  At least with a hurricane you know if it will hit you when it gets to your city.  Tornados on the other hand can skip entire cities or touch down right on top of your hose.  :S

Nature isn't cool.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

It's different when it's 25 miles away.

Yeah, in 2000 I think (perhaps 2001) we had a cat 4 tornado wipe out or heavily damage the entire down-town area, another square mile of homes about 0.5mi south-west of that, and some houses on my street on the other side of main.  I was on the road going toward downtown when it hit.

I'm sick of hurricanes, tornadoes and thunder storms. I want a volcanoe or a 40 foot tidal wave. Earthquakes don't seem to interest me either. I would also like a nice Blizzard. That's something you don't see down here.
What else is there? Avalanche, mudslide? Yawn.

Soon enough, in the future, the most common diaster will be "Striking Cat 5 Meteor terrorizes citizins in the United States!"

muahahahah have you ever coincidentally gone through the exact path of a tornado before it did???? when i was 4 on our way back from living in illinois...to washington again...2 tornadoes were pretty much on the same exact path we were on for like 5 or 6 hours...we ended up hiding in the basement of a 7-11 or an ampm... the UHaul we had got knocked on its side and we had to get a tow truck with a powerful winch to knock it back up onto the wheels
