Traffic Ticket

I was on my lunch break at work and went to get a sandwich from Quizno's.  On my way back there was a cop car parked sideways in the lane that I was in.  I stopped and then noticed that a guy in a cop orange vest was doing traffic control up the street where I guess an accident had occured.  I went around the cop car when the guy gave me the signal.  When I approached the scene of the accident (non-injury, some dumbass ran into the railing of a bridge), this cop starts yelling at me and the truck behind me to pull over.  He then proceeds to ask us what gives us the right to go around his car (which is parked about 50 meters up the street).  I tried to explain about the guy with the sign, (who happened to be a firefighter with a cop's safety vest on), but the cop just started writing me a ticket.  I didn't have my license or insurance with me so he said he would take "my word for it" that I had it.  The ticket is $120.  Here is the violation code: title 37 section 637 paragraph b.  http://www.cityoftulsa.org/general+info ... itle37.htm

I have a similar story.

It was my story about us in the wildfire down here, and one cop told us we could go thru, and then like a mile away, another cop picked us up. Damned cops and their dis-agreeable ways

Yeah.  You essentially got a ticket for obeying laws...so it's obviously fightable and winable.  What he cited you for is for following the exact code described.

i don't know about down there, but here in Kelowna in my law class we were taught that if you have the option to fight a ticket, you should. If you can find any problem with the ticket (speeding ticket doesn't have speed caught written on it...etc etc). for the most part unless its a serious crime, the cops won't show up for the lil court room thing being that its a waste of his time, more work for him in the long run, and all in all not worth it. I'd say fight it. If he was blocking the road for no observable reason and it was safe for you to pass you should be win the case easily. dumb cops....gotta hate em

The more I read, the more I'm getting fired up to fight this thing.  I imagine myself as Perry Mason.....Ozzy's song (same name) playing in the background, as I wail on the Prosecutor and that b1tch @$$ cop with "motion to dismiss" and "objections".  Should be at least a good story to tell.

I give it about a 90% chance that the cop won't even show up and you win. My mom got out of tons of tickets that way.  And went on to win a Driver of the Year award from her company.

Don't worry, I'm gonna fight this one....I'll release my strategy as soon as i get all the essential elements together.  I need to recon the area and take some pictures.  Once I get those taken and photoshopped, ill post em on here along with my defense.  I hope that pig doesn't show up, but if he does, ill be ready for him.
