HL2 =)
« on: October 6, 2004 07:29 pm CDT »
The release date grows ever nearer.  I'm not sure of the exact date, but who here is excited about this release?  I won't get to play it for a while since I bought an NEC 3500A first, but I am definately looking forward to it.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

I'm in it for the storyline, and to watch Barny die 50 times.

LOL, in that first pic it looks like the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" when they do that graceful crouching thing where they glide/fly around in the air..  :lol:

It reminds me of the Mr. Smith fight in The Matrix, when they all jump on him and he throws them all off  :lol:

No need to worry about the date being pushed back, guys.  HL2 is already on many people's PC's already, as steam has pre-loaded them with HL2.  All they gotta do is pay for it when the day comes to unlock it!

Preloads continue, but they're constantly updated which hints at continued development.  Also, it was supposed to be released this month but the majority of places that will sell it now quote early November instead.  No word from Valve.

I hope for the best, but it seems that most have you have already pirated leaked versions--so why do you folks care? =/

I think CS source should look a little sharper.  The textures are muddy and the models arent too detailed, in my opinion.

CS never really did look all that good anyways, the art quality is substandard when you compare it to other leading mods like Natural Selection, Specialists, and of course Day of Defeat.

The maps are excellent but stuff like the quality of the guns/textures is fairly substandard.
