I did.

Yes, in my opinion. (T1 fans seem to enjoy it more than T2 fans did. You'll have to remember its a new game, not an update from the others.)

Compared to what we are used to, small. Ski/Cap routes are easily marked in hillsides. Flags are, on most maps, easy to get without having to slow down. With the absence of better turrents and deploable force fields rapping is going to be a big problem. A good part of the smaller levels is that it keeps the flag in motion. Unlike T2 where if a player got the flag, and out of the base on a decent ski route he was gone, now its easier to chase and throw them off with a disc shoot on the way back to their base.

Mortors can blast you through base walls, through terrain, and through the map box, allowing you to attain speeds of 30k+ mps. There are still spots in maps where the players can get stuck. Or where you can come to a complete stop (while sking) if you hit the ground at a bad angle.

(I also think you should be able to cut grappler cords by shooting either the cord or the hook, but thats just my belief.)

From the beta, not much has changed really. I think that players have gotten heavier, ie they fall faster, and are harder to push when you shoot them with the discs. I think that you've also been giving more control of your player in the air and while skiing.

Hersh, I must disagree with you on the mortar/grapple parts.

Ive been playing the game since day 1, never have I been blasted thru the map by a mortar. Nor thru walls.

Grapples can be broken off the ceiling if you:
A) Fly between the cord and grapple point
B) Shoot the metal grapple part with a chaingun

-edit- Only glitch ive found is sometimes when you press 1 or 2 to spawn, the screen just sits there. Its like you got disconnected, but you can still see ingame, just cant spawn or talk. Maybe fixed in next patch

I've seen players blasted through the map with mortars. I've also seen players achieve speeds over 3k.
In my opinion, the grapple is awesome. It can be used to add alot of speed, completely change directions, and just to have a fun time swinging.

I really hope that people make some larger maps. I'd love to see a larger version of the map "Junk." If that's the one with all the ruined buildings, anyway. I don't think there were a whole lot of CTF maps released with the game. From memory, I can only think of having played 9, maybe 10. So the 4 that were in beta and demo, and then 5 or 6 new ones. Once people come up with some good new ones, maybe some larger ones, I think we'll see alot of fun.
Right now alot of people are working on remakes or T1 maps and some T2 maps as well. I wouldn't mind seeing some totally original ones. I'm even starting to learn the editor, so I hope to make a couple of my own.

Mortors have blasted me through the walls of the imperial base on Emerald and the Pheonix base on Winterlake. After you go through the base you pass through the map boundry. It happens, (havent you seen people get max speed of 34997 before?)

Grapplers, I'm not sure about, I've hit the hook directly with a disc and a sniper shoot before, and they stayed latched on. I geuss I'll have to keep trying.

--Another bug, somtimes in Arena you can respawn multiple times in one match. (It gets annoying having to kill the same guy over and over.)

I played the beta, and for the life of me I couldn't gain any speed with the grappler  :?

I would hook onto something, and it would sloooooooooooooowly pull me in... Or I wouldn't be able to hook onto something at all.

Ive been working on using the grappler to change direction on Emerald once I get the flag, but I always let the grappler fly too early before I get the flag, with me ending up coming within a (scaled) foot or so of the flag, and flying back.

Best strategy for me is always rocket/disk jump as soon as I get the flag.

Sometimes I'll get a lucky shoot, and swing into wide arc, and gain speed or change direction on Utopia.
Other times, I would have been better of with the grenade launcher.

80% of the time, I'm using light with grapple, disc, and grenlauncher. And an energy pack. Actually, I think that's the basic loadout for an O light.
