best places to buy computer parts?
« on: October 28, 2004 11:30 pm CDT »
Hey guys, I need some help finding online sites to buy computer parts from. I already know about newegg.com, but was trying to find a cheaper site out there, maybe a site I haven't heard about yet. Does anyone have any recommendations? (Besides ebay.com as well!) Thanks!

I've bought some memory from Digi4Me and I've looked at their site every once and a while and I find some deals, you can check them out and see if you see anything http://http://store.yahoo.com/digi4me/index.html

I also like SMKSuperStore but I have only looked at their site and have never bought anything as of yet, you can check them too http://http://www.smksuperstore.com/catalog/products.asp?ID=219

Hope those help, if I hear about more I will post them here again.

If its too good to be true it probably is.

May want to stick with sites with a good reputation, or a return policy.

Read the freakin thread first.

Anyway, it is true that newegg is hard to beat.  They've got excellent everything except refurb items.  Those items are usually broken returns, so it might take a few exchanges to get a working one.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

There's very little point to these days, except for fiding going rates of products when using eBay.

Froogle finds cheaper stores almost all of the time and Newegg is usually very competitive with their prices, and their customer support is definately worth a few extra dollars.  Video cards seem to be the only place they aren't too great.
