Umm? Admin Abuse Part 2 (I guess)
« on: November 7, 2004 03:52 pm CST »

Ok.. uhh.. I have no idea what possessed Snails to do this, but for some reason he totally messed up my Neutral Skill. I asked him about it many times but he just ignored me.. When I even went up to him in game and asked him in #say he just transported away.

And this is the only skill he messed with.

Open up your tribes shortcut and type this in:
If you don't have a shortcut....make one!

this is what it should look like.
C:\dynamix\tribes

add this after that.... -mod rpg

so now it should look like this
C:\dynamix\tribes -mod rpg

and yes, there is a space between tribes and -mod.

apply the settings and hit ok.  now when you start tribes you should have all the rpg icons, the rpg connect screen and rpg sounds.

have fun!

Hey Jonah, doesn't feel good when someone F's with you for no reason right?  I'm sure he had his reasons, but he could've at least told you something.  Snails has to be one of the worst admins as far as communication goes.  That b@stard never says a word...he just F's with your character for no reason..

make sure you put the space between tribes and  -mod rpg

also there is a space between mod and rpg.

If you really wanna solve the problem I would advise making a backup of your config and then re-installing tribes.  Follow the rpg installation instructions to a T.  It may be that you didn't name a folder "rpg"  or that your directories may be f@#cked up.  Make sure your rpg folder is in the same directory as your config.....meaning, when you go into "my computer" then your destination drive...C or D or whatever, then Dynamix, then Tribes, your rpg folder should be sitting in that directory with config and all that other stuff.  If its not in that directory, then put it there and try again.

Also, try making a new shortcut because if you're not using a shortcut, then it won't work.  Just make a new one and add that -mod rpg and see what happens.  It doesn't hurt to try.  Keep me posted on this.

Not that it is useful to do so in TRPG really.  Enemies look different anyway.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
