WoW Open Beta Started
« on: November 8, 2004 10:56 pm CST »
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/

It is a custom bittorrent.  Be prepared to UL more than you DL and it will take a long time to get the full 2.5GB.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

And you can't get the key for it, yet. Fileplanet ran out about 3 or 4 hours after OPEN started. And that site hasn't started giving them out, yet.

no it doesnt. If you click on it, it goes to a sign up for cd keys and account creation. Maybe they took it down.

-edit- Open Beta signups are over. They took down the site.

Way too boring? What were you level 10? It's actually very exciting when you get past 21 or so.

jesus f'ing christ.  blizzard is starting to upset me.  they did the stress test for what reason?  all the damn servers lag like fork because they screwed up the database system, they are constantly doing work and they are constantly getting even bigger problems, so where did all their quality games go?

There's nothing ever wrong but nothing's ever right
Such a cruel contradiction

MMORPGs are tough business.

Blizzard has the best client recognition and produces respectable-quality games [out of most companies out there]. Cut them some slack, they'll fix any issues.

Sit back relax, have some faith.
