I'm inclined to believe it was her works, I must not have been the only one to notice that the 2nd and 3rd movies took a sharp turn downhill.  Also, she filed for copyright, usually copyright is anything you have in writing is copyright you for the next 70 years from the day you put it to a tangible (paper) or intangible (post it online) medium.  She didn't just do that and assume, she filled out the freaking papers...
