it is a 20 second code fix, just have to re-upload the files.
If he doesn't want it, then send it to me.

And why are you scouring mods for things?  If you can't write it in the first place, or you can't come up with the idea, you shouldn't be ripping things from other mods, expecially not without credit to the mod you are taking the ideas and/or code from.
I never said I am ripping them off or just copying and pasting their code.  I go around looking for internal means of reaching goals that I don't know how to do, I look for unused or commented out parts of code that sound like a good idea and I fit them to the purpose I need.  And don't you think that I wouldn't be searching the other mods unless I had a pre-formed idea?  Quit being so arrogant and realize that some people actually try to expand their ideas into things other people will enjoy, being the nature of a multi-player game.

Quote from: "-eViL-"
Nothing in Tribes is hard. Coding, mapping, or otherwise. Coding just takes practice, mapping just takes patience, and the otherwise takes otherwise. And by coding practice, I don't mean copy and paste someone else's work and then edit through it, I mean actually write out everything yourself, and find ways to improve the time use by it, and slowly learn the shortcuts to everything for yourself.

As for this, shut your forking mouth until you come see what I have actually done.  Does having items you can pick up and carry around mean I copied and pasted from Dynamix code?  Certainly, there isn't a point in re-making something that is already done.  In case your head is that far up your ass, go look up the purpose behind open source... It's to share.
And if you want me to write out code myself, come on my server and heal someone who is wounded... Oh, what's that?  You get EXP for healing injured players?  Amazing!  Have you ever seen that before?  Oh, wait, you couldn't have being that I'm the first person (to my knowlede) to ever include it, and guess what?  I wrote it myself.

It amazes me that people talk about what they don't know about and insist that my way is wrong...  Come check the code that was hard, it has my name in the comments with it.  Check the code that I've used from other mods (never more than 5 lines at a time) and you will see // from mod blah blah.

you arent the first for the healing and EXP sort of thing in a variant etc.  :P
not saying that you ripped it but hey, theres only so many ways to make something.  in a mod.  the only reason to change how it is made is either to make it more efficient, or it is your first time doing it on your own and it is very, very sloppy.

I'll give you a website at pcrpg.info if you want it from a slower host.  I don't think Avi would appreciate me giving out hosting from such a cheap account heh

On another note, Dotster gave away free .info domains to all of their customers who had a .com, .org, or .net address.  It would appear I now own pcrpg.info and uberclockers.info for free.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

That's all beside the point, I was saying that I didn't find any code for that and created it all from scratch.  Besides, my code awards EXP based on the ammount healed, the max healing of the individal spell, the level of the healed characters (with a 1.5x bonus for people within 25% of your level) and a few other means to make healing worthwhile and keep GhettoBot from auto-remorting.

As well... I think Gladio doesn't want to update PCRPG, but rather use some of the PCRPG elements in his server as well.

Thank you Lidge, I keep trying to make that clear to people, but you seem to be the only one to pick up on it.

Better make sure there is no possible way to dupe coins, or you're wasting your time.

there is, its called the rewrite technique.  you rewrite all of trpg and make it work correctly, and make it so you can monitor everything at any given instance (without lag mind you).  make it more efficient, make it more viable for changes, make it more user friendly code.

It's all relative to what you are working on, and I've already messed around with the Unreal Engine...  It's almost a waste of time to try anything with that as stringent as it is.

You raise a good point, #dropcoins or #createpack now contain the equivalent of a #savecharacter.  This also happens on player death.  The one time I can't quite work around is when people just toss items, it would cause way too much lag to save every time that happened.  But I have removed dust anyways, so it probably won't matter.

That was kinda what I was thinking of...the only way is to make it to where they can't throw coins without saving that loss, but somebody could spew like 50 packs and crash the server.

Tru dat yo.  I may build in a timer so that it only lets you toss it a few times in a row.  Standard Tribes flood protection -> coin flood protection.  I would think that should help.

i'd just make it so you can't drop coins in general, trade only.  make it so you do like #tradecoins <player> <amount>  and have it display or otherwise to say #finishtradecoins yes, just to confirm the trade.  No packs dropped.

The above method would work, would take some effort to code/impliment, but would work.

Hah..  I typed that out and posted it, and you beat me to it!  Anyways..  there are already proximity function codes like #mug and #shove, so it shouldn't be too hard to code..

meh, it'll add about 30 new variables to the server, and a little extra code, maybe 15 lines max.

Yeah..  I hate TRPG code.  I always feel like im doing the same thing over and over when scripting stuff, so I'm more of a code theorist.   aka im lazy and can't stick with one project =/

Very good idea, I'll start working on that sometime this weekend.  Screw createpack at all, if I keep it a #trade system where you can specify an ammount and player, it will stop the duping of all items.  Thanks for the great ideas guys.
