well i can ususally get a few days worth of use out of them before they die. but that's with casual use of the camera. no big photo shots or anything. but then again my camera has a function where it automaticaly turns off if it's not in use for a certain amount of minutes.

i did buy them from walmart so im getting they are pretty cheap. eh.

Hey hey!

Not to poop on anyones parade, BUT, even fully discharged rechargables (of all kinds) do eventually wear out.  All rechargeable batteries do need to be fully charged the first time and fully discharged the first time.  Also, allowing the battery to fully discharge before recharging, every time, will lengthen battery life.

My point is that it is much cheaper to buy an ipod and recharge it's battery is fuly discharged than to buy new batteries for a different player every year or week (depending on if you use disposables or rechargeables.)  As well, the iPod battery is replaceable for under 40$ (in all most all cases) which is a major advantage, considering that the good rechargable AAs cost quite a bit of money to replace in most cases... well in all cases I have seen.

The ammount of money you will save on batteries by getting an iPod is worth it, to me, except that I have no use for such a device.

On an other note... my brother Ben just got an iPod shuffle and he is elated with it's compact size and functionality.  I hope he fully charged it before he used it... and fully discharged it the first time he used it.

It is a good practice to fully charge and discharge the battery every time you charge use your rechargable devices and betteries.  If you read any battery box or rechargable device instructions, it will say this.

yeah that's what I did with my batteries and they have lasted me over a year. And I use my camera everyday.

I think I might have decided to get an ipod mini. It's only 100 dollars more and You can hold a lot more and have a choice over what you can play. Also do you have to use Itunes with your ipod or can you directly put the mp3's right onto the player from your computer. Becuase i hate Itunes.

You use a USB cord right from your Windows Media Player or whatever you use, and send playlists over to the iPod.  iTunes is just designed to be an easier and lagal alternative to using P2P networks.

I like iTunes with my ipod because all you have to do is plug it in, and iTunes opens and updates your library automatically.  You just have to make sure and have your updated playlist in itunes at all times, or it will update to whatever you currently have in there.

Get an iAudio 1gig flash - aboute 200$ i think (it's like 200 EURO anyway) and, if not the best, it must at least be the 2nd best, sound quality.. and they look great to :)
