What makes you a geek
« on: April 27, 2005 04:53 pm CDT »
Tell in this thread what makes you a geek.  This can be something that you regularly do, or if you did anything particularly geeky on this day, tell about it.

I carry a 512mb thumbdrive around my neck at all times.  Its amazing how often I have to use it.

This morning I couldnt find my comb, so I used the pins from an old Pentium processor to straighten it out.  The multiple layers of pins really do a better job than a comb.

I got nothin to hide from you guys.

While taking apart my xbox to mod it, I accidentally left it plugged in.  My hand grazed the power supply, and it gave me quite a jolt.  But, for some reason, it kinda felt good, so I would keep on grabbing the power supply, seeing how long I could hold on.  :<D

I like to turn on my webcam, and stare at myself...  without a shirt on..  on a web conference meeting...

Around here, knowing anything at all about computers makes you a nerd, but I don't care..  I am me, not some stupid title.  I consider a nerd to be someone who LIVES on the computer.

What makes me a nerd? I hack into Ken's computer.

... for the express purpose of watching said web conferences.

I have had chickens and roosters since I was 6 years old.  There is absolutely no reason for me to but any of their heads off... but I allmost did bite this one rooster head off once when I was quite upset with the bastard.

Defined

As far as the other definitions... I think some of us fit those bills, others of us choose ot fit those bills, and some of us are not so single minded as to only persue computers.

I fit none of these definitions and as such I am not a Geek.

I do, however, now own a new linksys (cisco) WRT54g wireless/4 port router in order to bypass certain campus bandwidth throttling.

Peace.
