Know about Bluetooth
« on: July 8, 2005 04:36 pm CDT »
anyone know if it's really possible to use a bluetooth adapter (USB) to connect to a bluetooth headset, giving you the abliity to use it as a wireless headphone and microphone.

This is what i have in mind for my BT USB unit.

I don't see why not.  They make bluetooth headsets for cellphones.  If a cellphone can do it, I see no reason a PC with the same gear couldn't.  I'm sure somebody has written the software required to do so.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

It's a type of wireless technology to connect devices such as your cellphone to your computer, or PDA to PDA, etc..

It's slow as crap, but being omnidirectional and non LOS, it's nice for keyboards, mice, and other low-bandwidth devices.

its way over priced and overrated for what it actually does. it has potential to be a great technology but its never going to catch on because its way underdeveloped.

I think what you're attempting to say is that Bluetooth technology will be inside the new PS3...thx

I wouldn't say bluetooth is SLOW.It's good at what it's ment to be used for. It's just under the USB1 speed when your connecting a phone to a computer.2 Phones will be slower because of processer power and memory.
