Wonderful news, everybody.  It appears the web host made absolutely no backups of his clients' data...so we're back to my last backup from July or whatever.

This shouldn't be too big of a shock...we've been at square one a few times now--so square three is an upgrade.  :)

Waste no time!  Let the spammage commence!

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

Restoring from the backups sucks. :( You invariably lose data. Sometimes it's just a little, mostly it's a lot. I had to restore ghettobot to 12-day old backups today

If you think your post count should be higher, let me know and I'll manually check it out.  If you recall, I had to reset a lot of post counts for people after I restored the general discussion.  Well, the June backup was pre-restore so I had to do both that and the general discussion restore.

I know, Particle =P I know its a backup from way way way back ago. It's okay, I really don't care anymore. My post count was around 1300 before the site got wiped, but you don't have to reset it. Hell, it shouldnt even be my place to ask.

Now there's a bit of irony.  The phrase "SV1" looked familiar.  It kept bugging me.  Turns out the new hosting I bought is from the same place as the last one, only direct this time instead of through a second party's name.
