It's a slightly modified version of the first verse from a song about counter-strike I wrote years ago. I changed a few phrases to make it seem more consistant with an out-of-song context. The song version is as follows:
It's time for some Dust and the wind's blowing north
Spawning at the 2nd near the rocks by the door
The second bomb site first and get away from the cars
Cuz they ain't got protection from the Islams and SARS
Better yet, try 'n reload when the time hits the fan
Because you'll get about half way until you're found by the man
He's peeking 'round the corner after an hour of null
And you can bet your forking ass that his AK is full
It's time for some Dust and the wind's blowing north
Dust as in de_dust
Spawning at the 2nd near the rocks by the door
de_dust2 in this case, spawning at CT--rocks are right across from the door (sniper alley) if you leave the spawn area toward the B bomb site
The second bomb site first and get away from the cars
reference from previous line--going toward B; there were also cars introducted in the source version of dust and dust2
Cuz they ain't got protection from the Islams and SARS
the new cars that appeared in the source versions provided little protection to begin with...additionally, the big SARS breakout started when I was writing this so I referenced it
Better yet, try 'n reload when the time hits the fan
it seems like I'm always trying to reload when somebody finds me, so I can't shoot back; "time hits the fan" is a combination of two phrases--"malarkey hits the fan" and "out of time"
Because you'll get about half way until you're found by the man
Seems like I would always be found by somebody half way through reloading my magazine.
He's peeking 'round the corner after an hour of null
Reference to above event--I'd be sitting somewhere for a minute or two and finally decide to reload (didn't want to be left without a gun when I needed it). Inevitably, that's when somebody always emerges.
And you can bet your forking ass that his AK is full
I might be out of ammo, but they never are. heh
It's slightly different.
Rest of the song:
Take a bullet in my leg like it's made up of wood
Doin' a specific amount of damage that I know it should
Health-o-Meter takes a dive, a bullet later I respond
But it's all about first shot, unlike in Day with a garand
You'd think an auto weapon'd be quick to make a kill
But your loser teammates don't when they block your shots till
They finally get mowed down like the losers that they are
But while they fall, they take no damage and you take it all
Quick Explanation:
Seems like the weapons always inflict the same damage, eg an AK does 25-30, a 552 does 30-40, etc. When you get shot at and your health starts dropping, even if you only start firing one bullet after they do, you're pretty much garanteed to lose out. It only takes 4 rounds from normal weapons. In Day of Defeat, all that matters with the primary rifles is hitting somebody...they go down. In here, you have to worry about getting the first shot or you're screwed. Sometimes it takes forever for an assault rifle to kill somebody, too. People can fire 50 rounds at each other and only make three hits some times. Inevitably on a FF=on server, there's always teammates standing between you and the enemy blocking your fire. Since those nublets always die, when they get killed and start falling your view is still obscured, but the other guy who was attacking is still firing bullets (which go right through dead people and hit you for full damage).
A new round starts and I buy as it begins
The dumb nubs chattin', oblivious to prior sins
We take a new route to try another way
Into the enemy base, plant a bomb, and run away
I take the left hall to sneak around the back
Emerged just in time to run into a pack
And one thing's for sure, I had the element of surprise
Cocked the gun and mowed 'em down, a look of horror in their eyes
Quick Explanation:
After the last two verses, it's a new round. The nublets are chatting "OMG PWN" and other bullmalarkey, while experienced players (like the person who's viewpoint makes this entire song) are buying based on the previous round and thinking. Some times you can talk nubs into going a new route after they've all died going the same way 35 rounds in a row. So, everybody goes a new route, gets into the enemy base (A site), plants, and runs when the timer starts getting low. In the mean time, the main player has snuck around the back of the main playing area and emerges behind where the CTs are rushing in to defuse the bomb. Nobody sees him, so he unloads while they're all pointing the other direction and mows them down. This verse takes place in de_dust from the perspective of a terrorist. Start in T spawn, go through underpass, go into CT spawn, plant, main guy takes that back hallway to the center part of the map, runs in behind the CTs that are running to defuse the bomb, and finally gets them.
