that all depends on how you interpret it...
for example, an abyss may be interpretted as a large expanse of nothingness, therefore focus's stupidity would be a large nothingness, which essentially would boil down to him having nothing in the way of stupidity....which would mean you just complimented him.

I actually think Koro kinda makes a good point but abyss doesn't really refer to nothing just an endless space or hole so if you talk about someone's intellegence as an abyss I would pressume it would mean not being able to see the end of the person's stupidity and also endless space of stupidity......
