What is Websense?

For those of you either unable or too lazy to use a search engine...

Websense is an internet content blocking software system that is installed on the gateway/server computer of a network to control what people on your network are able to access.

It can block specific URL's, pages based on their word content, ad content, etc.

It effectively ruined the high-speed connection at my highschool in 1999 and made reasearch project impossible due to the content that was blocked by our school administrators.

Anyway... uhh...

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

My university filters porn.

The good thing I have to say about the filter is that it isnt too restrictive.  It is only once in awhile that I run into a blocked site (since I'm not a porn hound / cat abuse freak).  And if there is a site that is blocked that I want to go to (somethingawful is blocked, since it does have porn on it) then I just pull up a web proxy that isnt filtered by the 'sense.

lets say i have this forking hardcore proxy at school and i cant do anything. I setup a cgi proxy from my computer at home, and tried to logon aim express with it. but like it still wont let me connect to aim express. you cant download anything, and when i used the proxy to login to myspace, it said WRONG PASSWORD every time. someone help me get around this :c Sophmores and juniors have testing all week and we get to sit in core for 5 hours, and my core just happens to be the computer lab so we all have computers

that sucks and its awesome...though i cant help ya all school districts have different software & hardware to keep us from accessing certain malarkey

Wouldn't it be possible to set up a VPN and just send all the traffic through the port that the websites use? (I've heard it is possible to do that kinda stuff so maybe that can help you)
