experience per level
« on: May 21, 2006 08:24 pm CDT »
I was trying to recreate the experience per level count to reflect the system on particles, but it didn't work out as i expected. I borrowed the MR script and tried setting the level lower to begin to climb, and started the base exp at 100, but the ingame results were different. level 1 tnl was 120ish and then it increased very exponentially afterwards. by level 30 it was over a million tnl.

every code that i try to change is scrap...

my edit of the exp system probably comes closest to approximating pcrpg, but even that is an obvious, low-quality forgery. there's just no duplicating teh PCRPG goodness :P

Are you trying to update Deus or copy my graduated EXP system for your own server?  The first is fixable by downloading the update on my downloads site (http://downloads.pcrpg.org/deuspcrpgup.exe).  The second I cannot help you with.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

copy the system, but not entirely.  i suppose you don't share code. the reason why is because some people complained about the server who I was playing with, saying a few characters were not to their liking, and so i'd figured i'd get the aspect that drove the character system and reimplement it in mine. oh well

I did have a basic beginner tutorial in my guides section, but it is offline for a rewrite.  I wrote it in 2001 and it needed some rehashing.  I'll try to get on it this week.
