ATI Radeon X1300 Pro doesn't work with Elitegroup: K7VTA3???

all right all you CS majors and what nots and darwin and particle!!! time to solve neil's mystery of the ultimate graphcis card!

So basically i went to go buy a new graphics card, the ATI Radeon x1300pro AGP 8x/4x 256 MB DDR2(Upgrading from nVidia Geforce fx5200). And when i installed it, it had no problems whatsoever, the screen would come up and everything. Only problem is, when i went to play World of Warcraft for about 10-15mins or so the frequency override message pops up and the computer freezes. I'd figure it was my power supply because i had a CasEdge 230W and the reccomended power supply for the ATI Radeon x1300pro was 350+ watts. So i went to go buy a Raidmax 380W and installed it in. Now there's no display when i boot it up. Currently i switched back to the old 230W power supply and holding myself from playing video games and restricting myself on using the computer for a long periods of time, don't want to damage anything due to low power supply.

Other variables:
ATI RAdeon x1300pro is AGP 8x/4x
My Elitegroup K7VTA3 mobo only supports 1x, 2x, 4x

if you need anymore detailed infomation i can give it to you

Sounds like a problem with the raidmax.  I had a power supply that had partially died.  The fans would come on, lights would light up, but there was nothing going on besides that.  Essentially, the computer was braindead with that power supply.

Return power supply and get a new one.  I know little about the quality of raidmax power supplies, but I'm guessing they arent so great (judging from past experiences with crappy raidmax cases).

But hey, in the meantime, this can wean you of your WoW addiction.

This might sound silly to some, but I wont buy any power supply under $60.
