I would simply be trading it for a different problem.  I wouldn't have any trouble playing the game...but I would have trouble playing the game[/i].

Tribes stopped being fun long ago.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

if tribes stopped being fun long time ago, what can we do to get you interested in updating and adding things to the server?

You've mistaken my meaning.  Playing tribes isn't fun.  Developing is always fun.

i have a radeon x1300pro and ran it on a 230watt PSU!
that malarkey crashed like every 5 mins at resolution like 640x480...
then i got a 500watt and it runs as sweet as my face!

i'd say buy new card! buy new psu!
so you can play tribes to it's full potential!!!!!!!

BAM!

I'm an ATI fan.  It's a toss up of if ATI's R600 or nVidia's G80 will be the performance king.  Personally, I like the 64 completely unified shaders ATI has in their design.  nVidia decided to keep things seperated.

Looks like ATI's card will come with its own power adapter.  I wouldn't need a new PSU.  However, G80 will tap into the system's PSU and drain its fill.

Lol, if you only knew the condition of my Graphics card.  The fan doesn't even work and there are wires hanging out of it.  My philosophy is "it's not on fire YET".

Against everybody's suggestions, I've bought an X1900XT.  R600 won't be out until Q1 2007 at the earliest.  Who knows when they'll have mainstream cards.

So the purpose of the poll was to find out what everyone DIDN'T want, and then go from there? Smart :P

Well, KoRo, I did say early on that option number three wasn't a correct answer.  That didn't stop people from continuing to vote for it.

I'm sure you've already recieved word Particle, but Nvidia's new DX10 card is out.  Look at the crazy shader performance:

*Edit*

It also has better texture filtering at default quality than even ATI's HQ Anioscopic (sp?) filtering.

Double the synthetic performance in many areas!  All it took was twice the transistors and double the power to make it happen, too.  Oh wait, it doesn't seem like that big of an improvement anymore, does it?  Its real-world game performance doesn't match up to its synthetic performance, but it still eats up slightly over 2x the power.

I'll wait for R600.  It's already in production and will be for sale early next year.  Of course, we won't have any DX10 games until late spring or summer of 2007.  Nevermind that fact.
