In this review, they show that, at load, the GeForce 8800 uses less power than some single-card solutions out there; but I am not blind, and do see that it is using the same amount of power as some Sli and Crossfire solutions as well.

And i still think it's pretty cool, as a single card, that it beats out Sli and crossfire systems in some performance tests, like GRAW and Oblivion, all while having very nice AF at the default level, and even better as you turn the AF up.

GeForce 8800 GTX consumes up to 250W for the card itself.  The X1900XTX will consume up to 125W.  The X850XTPE will consume about 70W.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

The point of this thread was about graphics hardware, actually.  It seems that we're actually on-topic instead of straying.

Neil, do you not realize that the X1300 Pro only draws 31W at full load?

It seems more likely that one of the following was true:
1)  Your power supply was cheap and not really even close to being a 500W.
2)  Your power supply was malfunctioning.
3)  The two events were actually unrelated.

Which of the three I cannot tell you, but you don't need a 500W power supply for an X1300.  It's a very low-end entry level GPU.

I prefer English or Spanish on this forum.  Not many people speak Fench around here.  This includes myself, which makes it hard to moderate.

Sin embargo, sí, esto es vida.
