Particle, that criteria has three flaws. First, it is a trivial matter for a 13 year old to claim to be 14 in order to swear like a sailor. Second, it is a trivial matter for a 14 year old to claim to be 13 in order to annoy half the people on the server by being a catalyst for censorship. Third, keeping track of who is 13 would quickly become a daunting task.

I say censorship should instead be based on the time of day; for example, during the day, all swear words are censored, but during the night, only level three words (racial slurs) are censored.

I would agree but then you have look at what is the time to be considered night and time considered day?

i like this idea very much...just like tv shows the mature stuff at late hours censoring could be done at late hours...but then again...you have kids who stay up untill ...very late in the night just to play...

besides that u got me a focus...we both are in europe...when u guys go to bed its morning here...and u got different timezones even in the us

I didn't say anything about what you think people might be.  Only if you know, should you consider the exception.  Why are you complaining?  It's absurd--you're taking the side of letting people talk in such a way as to harm any children online.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Oh, I admit it is simpler from an admin perspective as well as a scripting perspective to simply censor all bad words all of the time, regardless of who is on and what time of the day it is.

I just thought I'd explore the possibility of adding a little freedom. :P

obviously admins had to do something about it...
I'm glad they censored the whole server
I really forgot some things can affect people...
like the other day some poeple called a certain guy a nazi...
he took it very seriously and doesnt want to play anymore because fo that...

this is so forked up.  how the fork is this even happening?

gay is not a bad word.
dick is not a bad word.
unsavory woman is not a bad word.

are you people english?  ohhh okay so some people use the word gay when it should not be used.  does that mean gay is a bad word?  no.  how forking hard is this for people to grasp?  is there any way i can explain it that would make more sense to you?  not only is gay not a bad word, it is also not a RACIAL SLUR are you forking joking?  this malarkey is crazy.

censoring the server is in noones best interest.  do you think that you are making the world a better place by eliminating it of everything bad?  good luck.  try doing something in the real world if you want to make the world a better place.  keep telling yourselves that it is for the best.  because all this will have a huge impact on the server and the entire world if we will rid it of all naughty words!  yaay lets go smoke more crack.
