Tribes Installation
« on: February 1, 2007 05:20 pm CST »
Installing Tribes, RPG mod and all the updates are a pain in the arse.  Why has nobody made one installer that does everything yet?  I would do it, but I'm not sure how to.  I know Corona could probably do it seeing as how he developed the Iceworld Installer for my server and it works pretty well.  Just a thought.  Anyways, voice your opinions on this.

I recall particle saying he made one but I can't find the post where he says that.

The closest thing that I've found is a tribes install with updates.

If you want a fully updated and clean Tribes install, just use http://www.Tribes0.com.
Ideally, though, I'd like to see a Tribes installed with RPG, Deus and other useful scripts. Installing and configuring Deus is more annoying than installing RPG.

It would definitely have to come from a trusted source.

Particle has one that installs tribes, updates it to 1.11, installs the latest TRPG + Deuspack...

He just doesn't have it listed as a public download.  Search for it on the forum--he posted the link.

http://downloads.pcrpg.org/trpg5005wtribesfullinst.exe

It requires the .NET 2.0 Framework to install.  By this point, it's pretty pathetic that anyone doesn't have it already.  It's been an update in Windows Update for like three years.

I uploaded this almost a year ago.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
