I bet the spambots have a built in search feature to find people who are unsavory womaning about spamming on the forums because they know it is allowed there so they log in and post.

just add a thing that ask you, when you create your account, to write number and letter that you see on a little image. ( we see this on many site )

As far as I know that can also be manipulated.  There are ways to program it so that it can tell which letters they are.  It's very hard to program, and I don't know how to do it, but I've heard of it being done.

Why not just do something simple like saying they can't post for 1 hour after they register, they still get their email to activate and everything but in this case they can't actually post and since they usually just post once you filter out the spam

Particle said he's not a fan of installing a variety of mods to the board (after I recommended such a tactic). It's what we've done at Annihilation.info and we've had a 100% sucess rate. Well, one spam did get through, but he wasn't advertising a website, only his email address. Kind of weird. Can't really stop legitimate humans from registering and posting, though. Would sort of defeat the purpose.
