That problem can only be fixed by editing the character files which I cannot..

Happens if the server hickups when saving your file.  It happens every so often to a single character usually.

Not all of a character's stats are saved in these events and therefore a character file is incomplete and doesn't load fully when next called.

I just got access to the characters again today, and there's really no way for me to help since my last backup was from early January until a couple days ago.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

I hate it that I havent backed up my desktop computer.  I installed DX9 on it, and immediately afterward installing it, the comp started to really fudge up.

I have 10MB in the Character Backups folder.  They're mostly RAR archives on maximum compression as well.
