I am a weapon fan too so i understand what youre talking about, I'm getting my firearms license next week lol...(actually i dotn intend to have guns, but i need it to have crossbows and some type fo sword...who need a license)

But you gota understand hwow people will react, its all naturla to fear something made to kill, especially firearms. The  again don't compare nuclear weapons to guns, just like you shouldnt compare knife throwing to gun shooting.

when you get weapons into your home you gota accept the responsability of them, you have to accept that accidents may happen. We weapon colllectors accept that reponsability and take care of the weapons we use.

Now dont start insulting a hobby. Some guys like to collect stamps and do models, well we like shooting guns! Everyone gets to choose his hobby even if its a lil more dangerous than other hobbies.

its natural that some people might not understand as why would anyone wanna practise shooting.
I'm kinda against guns myself as I prefer more traditional weapons. I only enjoy shooting with crossbow , bow and blowgun. Firearms wil be for later on.

To better understand my (probably unorganized) thoughts to come, remember I am still in high school.

Last year, after the tragedy that is Virginia Tech (please leave the jokes from this), someone at my school wrote an article in the school paper that was the biggest piece of naive garbage I have ever read in my entire life.  This person tried to say that the world would be less violent without guns and that guns are the reason people die and that if guns would be banned the world would be a less violent place and that killing would stop.

Now I have a serious question for everyone.  Where the fork did she get these stupid ass ideas from?  Does anyone know?  I'm seriously curious.  Are there people out there who are actually that stupid?

if there were no guns there would be other things....people are animals in a sense so if they want to kill they will. with a gun or a knife or a rope or your bare hands...there will always be a way and there will always be death no matter what weapon you use.

and part, using a gun for hobby (as you do im assuming) is fine as long as youre safe. which im sure you are. all im saying is a gun should never be "played with" and im sure you get joy out of shooting targets but the way that i look at guns is different from yours. i see no joy coming from them. i dont see them as something fun. but that's just me.

im just a tree hugging hippie anyways ;)

Aww, he must not have wanted people to see his idiocy.
There were two guys, one had a glock or something with a full clip. He unloaded it as fast as he could at some target, but he must have miscounted or something. Next thing he's walking over to the guy holding the camera, and holding it out, barrel first, for the other guy to take it when it goes off and almost hits the camera guy.
And then he's just like 'whoops, you okay?'

I know, Kyrie, I was just in a weird mood.. I tried to cover my ass with the "nothing personal" but I guess I goofed that up.

Anyway.. uh.. yeah.

Aphex:
Too old?
How old is that?
I am turning 26 soon and despite feeling old since my first year here (at the age of 23) I have managed to safely stay out of the weird stoner "culture" I find here.  In fact, I am strait edge and have not ever smoked weed (honestly, I am forking weird enough as it is; stoners agree with me when questioned.)  I have not had a drink of alcohol since May of 2006, 2 weeks before school got out, when I realized I was in addiction phases.. and I completely brought that upon myself with out the typical peer pressure or showing off or anything like that; I just liked hard alcohols... well.. still do.. but.. yeah.. bad for me.

I am not really a hippie either.. despite only showering about twice a week on average.  (really.. saves water, time, money, etc.. and most people stink to me any way, no matter where I am; I've gotten used to that)

Uh.. ramble.

Peace!

Yeah, I agree with you about the "school kids" thing.  I like to help and hang out and stuff, but their mentality can be tedious.  Most of my friends here are in their late 20's or mid 30's, which is really good to have, but some of the young ones do show promise.  I found that the College in parents town (Napa) was better fitting for me, as well, because it had more 30-60 year old people.  In general it could be said I love and hate all.

Lazyness is a fine reason to not do something.. I mean.. if you're not motivated to do such a thing, then perhaps that thing would be more trouble than it may seem worth?

I don't eat mammal, do recycle, do follow EPA disposal guidelines of CA, don't feel good about trimming plants (hell.. plants should take care of themselves, mostly.. I should also be able to burn them back yearly.. but that's kind of a native-american land management ideal I hold as it was once held by people all over the planet), etc..

Thanks for the drinking commendation; it's my problem, it's tough to deal with, but it's life and I made my own mistakes.  I am responsible for such things; a major difference between myself and most new students.. ha!  it certainly does not suit any one at all.

Jesus.. re-reading this, you'd think I was a lonely bachelor looking for a date.. ha!
Got your ASL, anyway, :-p

Peace out hippie! ;-p

Somewhere along the line, something went wrong, and all of a sudden anyone who cares about the planet or environment enough to want to do something about it is called a "hippie" or a "treehugger" or a "dirt worshipper". wtf?
