Yes crash.  Saying that going into Iraq for oil is a very shallow statement.

Look at North Korea. They are many times over more dangerous, yet, America supports them financially. Why go to Iraq? Bush wants votes, and war is always a great way to get them. Another big reason is the oil. Magus, what you said about the by-product was in the wrong order.

Again, shallow statements.  This war is not just for the good of the president.  The big picture is for the good of the world.

Oh, North Korea is next mmkay?  Hear about the troops that have moved near the country?

My stepdad lives in south korea.  He's a nice guy, I hope he gets outta there before war begins (south korea is a pretty cool place btw).

Bush doesn't compare to Hitler? How about the fact that Bush has stated (on at least three occasions) that he would prefer to be a dictator. (It would make his life easier, he said.) "There should be limits to freedom," Bush said. I am going to "save the World from freedom."

Want another? Hitler's Enabling Act. Sound familiar to Bush telling Congress that he doesn't need their approval to declare war or to ignore treaties? It does to me.

How about Hitler's "Ordinances for the Protection of the German State and Nation"? Compares rather nicely to Bush violating civil liberties by imprisoning Americans and calling them "enemies of the state". They also have no right to legal counsel or representation.

I could go on. Want me to? I've yet to hear a real solid reason outlining why we should attack Iraq. All that's been said is, basically, that Saddam is a tyrant and he has to be stopped. Really!? I'm not disputing that. It's already been said someone who posted before me (who was FOR the war) that there is really no fear of retaliation. What I am disputing is the need for the slaughter of innocent Iraqi, just to quell our own imagined fears.

Hmm, and what have Canadians benefited the world? And no, canadian bacon doesn't count (although it's good).

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

... Is that relevant at all? How about the world's most prominent peacekeepers? Sounds good to me. Then, again, this is about Iraq, so let's not turn this into yet another Canada vs US flame war, please...

Well I find it funny how you are quick to jump to the conclusion that all us Americans are all the same.  I think you need to stop with your nationalistic views of your 'awe-powerful' country you have there and pray that Canada does something that helps the world other than criticise one that does do better for the entire world by getting rid of problems.

For one, I haven't jumped to any conclusions. My comment about omnipotence was a joke, if you didn't get it. Second, when did I praise Canada? Third, Canada doesn't criticise. I do. And last, millions of innocent civilians are not "problems".
