Ever Just Get SICK of Spam?
« on: March 30, 2003 01:18 pm CST »
...I do

I've even made a spam filter app that helps me out by nabbing tons of it... it's still not enough.  Instead of just going through and deleting the egads of spam that's left over like normal when I do a mail dump, I decided to actually unsubscribe from a few of the more notorious services.  Here's some of the results:

Here's me unsubsribing through email:

And through a web form:

Post your "funny" or just plain rude unsubscription methods here... we all get pissed off at times, now's a chance to let the world know and get praised for it! hehe =D

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Two weeks ago when going to a computer show to pick up a wifi card, they had people outside the door hassling people to sign up for a contest to win prizes.  Of course, if you know any better, these contests are only made so they can sell you stuff.  The only question it asked you was your name and email address.  I quickly noted this would lead to spam.

This hot girl in a red shirt handed me a card, and here is what I put:

TheChick_RedShirt@Niceboobs.net

I am sticking with yahoo, since a year ago they have improved greatly in the interface and spam blocking.  I never get spam.  Also I have the coolest email address in the world, so I'm sticking with it.

Never unsubscribe... just tells them you're getting the emails. Therefore, they'll send you even more.

Only partially true.  If they send it and don't get a failed mail message, you pull up the graphics in the "rich" spam, or reply they know you're getting it.  If you unsubscribe they have to BY LAW quit sending it.  I normally just block them with my app, but why not unsubscribe AND block them?
