I thought that was an action game..?

What about Dark Cloud 2.. I just bought that today

I had the original and really hated all the boring dungeons, but the sequel is supposed to be really good.

You bought a game without even trying it first?

i bought breath of fire v without testing it out first... big mistake too. that game was fun until i got to the part where i 'turn into a dragon', then the game just goes down the malarkeyhole. essentially, you have a dragon counter, when it reaches 100% the dragon inside of you bursts out, killing you. game over. when you walk, your dragon counter rises, slowly, but it rises which means you have to rush through the game.. which is stupid. seeing as how i bought the forking game because its supposed to be an rpg. also, you have save tokens.. you run out of those, and youre screwed. its a really really annoying game and i wish i had never bought the damn thing.

so, no, never buy a game without renting it first. besides, who wants to pay 50 dollars for a coaster anyway?

Heh, I loved Breath of Fire V. It's true length was in the Scenario Overlay (SOL), not in a single runthrough.

Oh, and by the way, the Dragon Counter doesn't 'just rise'. Using Dragon techniques does it, such as D Dash, which you might use without paying attention to the Counter.

yeah i know, i forgot to add those. i much prefer BOF3... being able to mix and match genes to make new dragon forms. in this one, they give you ultimate power, but not the chance to use it, except for maybe the final boss. not to mention, i hate capcoms games now.. they ruined devil may cry by adding the whole replay thing. i like games where you progress slowly and when you beat the game, thats it. not games where you go in, kick all the bad guys asses, beat the game, then replay it on hard or impossible mode. which was a contributing factor to me walking away from tribes. damn i need to stop ranting...

Edit: in battle, using dragon form was called d-draw right? i cant remember exactly what it was called, but i went from 0.00 to 7.5 in one fight. the fight just after ryu freaks out and changes.

Close. It's D Dive.

Anyway, it wasn't exactly like replaying the game on different difficulties. Truly "beating" the game involved getting a 1/4 D Ratio. Using SOL, you kept Party XP, Weapons, and Skills, and it opened new areas and cutscenes, so it was like a whole new game every time... It was a great game, man. Either pick it up again or ship it to me!
