The Feds destroying privacy

I think it's bullmalarkey that they can get away with this.  By getting these IP addresses in the first place they are violating someone's right to privacy.  fork this is bullmalarkey.  No one's safe anymore.  You can't even think about committing a crime without getting convicted.

I'd say that is a load of bullmalarkey. Attempted murder is one thing, but attempted downloading of content really doesn't fall under the same category. The guy they arrested never actually POSSESSED any porn (well, not according to this report anyway), so where was the harm done? A lot of people attempt things every day, but does that mean they should be punished simply for trying?

Personally I think that it crosses the line. If the FBI is going to arrest anybody, arrest the guys who MAKE the porn, not who downloads it. That does make me feel uncomfortable, though. I don't plan on downloading any child pornography any time soon and I do think it's very disgusting and should be looked down upon, but are they going to start going after all porn sites altogether? (90% of the internet, lol).

This makes me scared as hell, but not because of pornography.  The Feds have been cracking down on other activities that I will not name so that Particle can't get in trouble and it makes me scared as fork that they might do this bullmalarkey to me.  It's forking stupid.  I mean this clearly violates the 4th amendment.  It makes me sick that no one cares about the constitution anymore.  They're always doing things that violate it.

What happens when the link is posted all over Forums as a joke, or someone creates a small army of bots on yahoo/msn/aim and starts giving out the link? Or, hell what happens if some random jackass accidently clicks the link?

Facking horrible idea.

They're not even going after the sick forks that make the porn.  They're only going after the people who want to watch it.

Wow... forkin' crazy.

I guess we know how some one from an other country could take over the US now, eh???
;-p

But seriously... wtf?
A link that might go to nothing can get you in jail??
Ah please some one get a hold of one of these and spam it everwhere... I'd like to see them freak out when 3/4 of internet users show up on their entrapment list... *sigh*

Stupid malarkey.. I guess it is good I am minimalising my net use and not clicking links too often any more.
Right??

:-/

Probably also good my wireless is secured.

I suspect that if they are using it for this, it won't be long before they use it for other things.

That's what pissed me off the most. They're attacking the symptoms instead of attacking the source of the problem.

That's precisely what we (not retarded americans) are pissed off about. The feds are going about it all wrong.

American's aren't the only ones in trouble.  The Feds have used this to get an international agreement to arrest Canadians who have been tricked using this method as well.  No one is safe.  The Feds are going too far and ruining it for everyone, no matter their country.

You never know.  Under the guise of the "common good" worse things have happened on an international level.

you are as naive as you are ignorant.

what makes europe so special?  do you have some kind of immunity?  have you been vaccinated against tyranny?

does Napoleon? Adolf Hitler? Mussolini? Francisco Franco, ring any bells?

These "retarded Americans" (as you call them have) rescued europe from it's own stupidity on so many occasions only to suffer the uninformed criticisms and blind prejudices that you continue to foster under the misguided belief that you are somehow superior.
