We get some of the craziest weather in memphis.  The missisippi river really makes it tough sometimes.  Also we barely get any snow, like maybe a couple inches, while other places N,S,E,&W of us get like 4-12 inches.

UGH, and when it rains during the summer, a day later the humidity is wayyy to high to try and do anything.

Silv, I'm getting sick of all of your recent posts, they're mostly made out to be flame posts.  If you don't have anything else better to talk about then you can go play your "Seiken Densetsu 3" and stop bothering us on the forums.

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Heh, I don't use that computer.. it's just a novelty when friends come over.  They're like "OMG, I wanna press the turbo button".  I ganked the floppy drive outta there and put it in this one, it never had a CD drive, lol.

Once the scroll button come scrollin back scroll button come to ya like a heart attack!

I dont understand why manufacturers even decided to include a turbo button.  I remember on my old 486, it had an led thing on the front, press the turbo and the number would go from like 22-44.  Doom ran faster, I think.  Hard to tell since I was already used to the bleep noises the comp made (had no sound card).

Actually the "Turbo" made it run slower.  I can't remember what exactly it does, but it makes the CPU slower.

I remember my 386 was so slow that when I played Wolf3d, I would know when there would be nazis in the next room because my hard drive light would load up. lol... the good ol' days.

A lot of games were based on clock cycles and didn't run right with faster computers.  Load up Descent 1 if you want to know what I'm talking about.  Turbo made it run slower so the games would work correctly.

So that LED display was the actual clock speed at the time.  Hmm, so Im guessing that MMX technology helped to keep it where the game would run at the right clock speed, right?

You should have seen my place Wednesday, a big giant light-purple blob over the DFW area... soft-ball size hail, sheer winds, etc...
